Description
The POD is that if the regional government of Vojvodina back in 2004 was convinced enough that the historic 1848 tricolor used by the Šajkaška revolutionaries was the perfect banner for the region.
The basic tricolor of blue, yellow and green was added by the greater version of the regional coat of arms: the Hapsburg eagle symbolized the region's past as part of Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918 (the original file of the (simple) coat of arms was very small), while the arms itself represented the the regions that formed Vojvodina.
The flag is used in schools, local government buildings, regional public entities like Radio Television Vojvodina and the main organs of the regional government alongside the Serbian flag within the region.
