In my TL "Filipinas: La Gloriosa y Más Allá", the province of Misamis is composed of OTL provinces of Misamis Oriental, Camiguin and Bukidnon; Higaonon-Binukid served as co-official language and Cagayan de Misamis (OTL Cagayan de Oro) is the capital.

The southern region of the province served as place of refuge for the Manobo-speaking Christians in two versions of my Philippine-wank scenario:

• Regular version: They're fleeing the encroachment of immigrants from the rest of Malay-speaking world; others went to the area around Kidapawan.
• Full/ASB version: They've fled after the repercussion of their rebellion against the Sultanate of Maguindanao, in which include the annexation of their land to newly-formed Davao Territory in 1860.

For the coat of arms itself, it's actually a combination of the heraldry of three major cities in the province: Cagayan de Oro (dove), Malaybalay (the Binukid kalasag) and Valencia de Kitanglad (three palm trees).
